Studying for the ARE? AIA Blue Ridge YAF has exciting news!

Each year the AIA Northern Virginia Young Architects Forum organizes seminars for those preparing to take the Architect Registration Exam® (ARE). The seminars offer the opportunity to learn from a professional in each discipline and use that knowledge in preparation for the ARE. All sessions offer AIA Continuing Education credits.

This year, partnered with AECOM, AIA Northern Virginia is pleased to extend the series to young members of AIA Blue Ridge, who can attend the AECOM Roanoke offices to participate in a remote simulcast. Registration is required, bookmark http://www.aianova.org/are.php for registration openings.

May 4 – Life After Exams: Licensing + Professional Development

The Saturday review sessions are $40 for AIA members and $60 for non-members per seminar. Cost includes lunch and study materials.

Supplemental Courses are also offered to review topics found throughout the exams. These sessions meet on Wednesday evenings in January and February.

February 24 – Architectural History II

The evening supplemental courses are $25 for AIA members and $35 for non-members. The cost includes refreshments and study materials.

Two intensive weekend review workshops are also offered. These sessions are only available in person in Northern Virginia:

March 11-13 – Building Systems, taught by Professor Michael Ermann.

ARE study materials by Kaplan Educational Resources

Kaplan’s ARE materials, including study guides, question and answer books, practice vignettes, and flash cards, are available to be checked out free of charge from the Chapter House by Chapter members. The library also includes ArchiFlash cards and copies of Solutions: Understanding the Graphic Divisions of the Architects Exam by Norman Dorf and The Amber Book (ARE Building Systems Study Guide and Practice Exam) by Michael Ermann.
