During the Architects of Healing Awards Ceremony, AIA President Jeff Potter, FAIA, AIA EVP/CEO Robert Ivy, FAIA, and AIA First Vice-President Mickey Jacob, FAIA, presented commemorative medals to the Architects of Healing as well a s to the unnamed architects who also responded following the tragedy. Architect members of all the project teams were invited onstage to receive an AIA Presidential Citation, and the Cathedral Choral Society sang in tribute.

During the Architects of Healing Ceremony, Calatrava spoke to the audience about “marking a turning point, taking the ruins, and making something positive.”

At the Architects of Healing Ceremony, Davis shared with the audience that “above all this project is about the people and the lives that were lost.”
