As part of National Architecture Week 2012, the AIA Blue Ridge chapter is hosting “Kidstruction: The Big City” a FREE program at the Taubman Museum of Art on April 14, 2012. Hint: The event will include 40,000+ LEGOs®. Kidstruction activities include:
- LEGO® City: Children will help construct a miniature city from 40,000 LEGOs®
- Block City: Toddlers will have fun building, and destroying, with cardboard bricks
- Coloring Contest: Children can enter by coloring a custom designed coloring sheet

Every April, chapters in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) are encouraged to host events for National Architecture Week with the purpose to raise awareness of the achievements of architects as well as the impact of architecture on our daily lives. AIA chapters large and small will host special events such as outreach programs, receptions, lectures, tours, film screenings, award programs, and open houses.
